Electronic Arts has revealed the official anthem for the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Year 5 Championship.

The new single is called ‘STIM UP‘, by Japanese rapper Reo ‘OZWorld‘ Okuma, and is scheduled to release on January 14th, 2026.

As of writing, STIM UP is available to pre-download on Apple Music, or can be pre-ordered through the iTunes Store. The song is themed after the in-game legend Octane, a character OZWorld feels ‘a real connection with’ according to a comment to Electric Bloom.

OZWorld will headline the ALGS Championship by performing at the Daiwa House Premist Dome in SapporoJapan, for the opening ceremony before matches begin. Reports state that OZWorld will perform several songs at the international tournament, featuring an LED set-up and supported by a 24-person dance crew.

STIM UP celebrates Year 5 of competitive Apex Legends and is the second anthem to be released in the history of the esport scene. 2025 saw the release of the first anthem, ‘CHAMPiONS’, by Japanese band SiM for the Year 4 ALGS Championship.

What is the ALGS Championship?

The top 40 teams from the regional Pro-Leagues, Last Chance Qualifiers, and Championship Point rankings will compete in Sapporo, Japan, for a $2m (~£1.48m) prize pool.

Running from January 15th to 18th, rosters will strive to advance through each stage of the competition and avoid elimination. Beginning with the Group Stage, groups of 10 will compete in a round-robin format to decide the seedings for the winner and loser brackets.

Following the results of the Bracket Stage, the top 10 teams from each bracket will advance to the Finals, which will take place on the last day of the tournament.

All eyes will be on the Finals, which will shift to the Match Point format. To become the champion of Year 5, an Apex Legends team must be the first to secure a battle royale win after reaching 50 points.

Electronic Arts has also shared other crucial details ahead of the ALGS Championship, including map pool changes, unlockable in-game rewards through Twitch Drops, and more.
