Pandoland Announces Shutdown Just Eight Months After Global Launch

Pandoland is shutting down. Yep, publisher WonderPlanet has announced the shutdown of Pandoland, just eight months after it launched globally on mobile. The announcement follows its conversion from a Japan-only release to a global server last May.

When is the Pandoland shutdown?

Game Freak confirmed the shutdown in a post on X, expressing gratitude for player support and feedback over the years. It’s shutting down on March 6th, 2026. As of now, there has been no confirmation on whether an offline mode will be added to allow solo play or mission completion after service ends.

Pandoland is developed by Game Freak, which is better known for Pokémon. A casual RPG with a voxel art style, the game offers over 500 characters and a cloud-covered world full of exploration and treasure hunting.

Now, what led to the Pandoland shutdown? Well, Pandoland leans heavily on repeat roulette events that offered progressively fewer rewards. the overall design is aggressively grindy and pay-to-win, with PvP a primary source of diamonds.

After its initial launch, the game had a ROCKMAN/Mega Man collaboration event. Post that, regular events and meaningful updates were largely absent from Pandoland. And then there was the Hatsune Miku collaboration rerun. That also became infamous for abandoning unique event maps in favour of the roulette wheel system.

So, that’s it. Pandoland is having its shutdown in a couple of months. To give a proper farewell to the game, the devs have created a ‘Thank You Campaign.’ Further details of in-game purchases and other details will be revealed in the coming weeks.

If you hadn’t tried the game, you can check it out on the Google Play Store. It’s free to download and play.
