NRG has announced that Zechrie ‘XotiC’ Elshani has parted ways with the organisation ahead of the 2026 Counter-Strike 2 competitive season.

According to the American player, focusing on his competitive career while running multiple businesses had become increasingly challenging, ultimately leading to his decision to step down from the roster

“After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to step down from the NRG CS2 team,” XotiC stated on X (Twitter). “Balancing competitive CS with running multiple businesses has become increasingly difficult, and trying to split my focus has ultimately meant neither gets the attention it deserves.

“Thank you to everyone at NRG for the support and trust. I wish the team nothing but success, and I’ll be cheering you all on moving forward. It’s truly been a pleasure.”

“I’m incredibly grateful to NRG for the opportunity. Getting to attend my first LAN, my first Major, and play alongside some insanely talented players is something I’ll always appreciate,” XotiC further wrote.

oSee has been a part of the North American organisation for over two years and has multiple tier-two Counter-Strike 2 titles under his belt, such as ESL Challenger League Season 49: North America and Fragadelphia 18.

He will next set foot on stage with NRG at Fragadelphia Miami 2 2026, scheduled to take place from January 2nd to 4th at the ROK Esports Center.

NRG Sells Assets to DarkZero Esports

On December 19th, North American organisation DarkZero Esports acquired the assets of all NRG esports teams; however, the teams will continue to compete under the NRG moniker.

In addition to this, DarkZero Esports’ existing Rainbow Six Siege team will also participate in competitions under NRG’s banner.

As for NRG’s performance during the 2025 CS2 competitive season, the team found success in tier-two tournaments but struggled to carry forward that momentum into tier-one events. Heading into 2026, the organisation will be aiming to establish a stronger presence at the highest level of competitive Counter-Strike 2.
