G2 Esports ends Women’s League of Legends project

European esports organisation G2 Esports has disbanded G2 Hel, its women’s League of Legends esports project.

The disbandment comes two weeks after the team achieved victory at Nova Series: Prélude, a four-team regional tournament.

Announced on December 19th, 2025, the closure of G2 Hel brings an end to three years of competing across several women’s League of Legends tournaments in Europe. The two-minute video features memorable moments from the most recent iteration of the roster.

Over the past three years, G2 Hel dominated the women’s League of Legends scene in Europe, winning titles across various events, including Storm Takeover, Coupe des Etoiles, and Nova Series.

“Today we are saying goodbye to the G2 Hel project,” wrote G2 Esports on social media.

“From unhinged memes to more than three years of dominance, thank you for everything.” The organisation didn’t disclose the reasons behind the disbanding of the project.

In January 2025, the organisation signed Rym ‘rym‘ Salloum and ‘Zeniv‘ to its roster, resulting in success at TRIFORC3 TOURNAMENT and the 2025 edition of the Equal Esports Cup. The team was also one of the first to compete in League of Legends Game Changers Rising.

Since its inception in 2022, G2 Hel has built a lasting legacy within the women’s League of Legends scene. In May, it secured promotion to the Liga Nexo, becoming the first female team to earn promotion into the European Regional League’s second division.

The team managed to win eight titles, cementing its place as one of the strongest women’s rosters competing in regional tournaments.

“Thank you to all the fans for pushing me to do better. It’s the end of an era, but it’s not the end. 2026 will be very different for me, and I’m excited to share it soon.”
