Elden Ring-Like Open-World Action RPG Where Winds Meet Is Out Now

Where Winds Meet has landed on Android after months of speculation and demos. An open-world ARPG, it’s developed by Everstone Studio and published globally by NetEase Games. The premise is set in tenth-century China.

A Wuxia open world this massive?

Where Winds Meet lets you dive into an adventure around the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms era. In that period, shifting power, unpredictable alliances, and battles that reshape entire regions defined history.

You step in as a young sword master with no clues about your past. As you move between the imperial capital’s packed streets and quiet corners of wilderness, the game piles on secrets, side stories, and little detours.

Your reputation depends entirely on what you choose to do. You can stir up chaos, break the law, rack up bounties, and end up behind bars. Or you can go in the opposite direction by helping villagers, building alliances, and slowly becoming a hero in a Wuxia world that is falling apart.

It’s Where Winds Meet with movement and scale

Cities, temples, forests, forgotten tombs, and small pockets of life appear everywhere across over 20 distinct regions. The day-to-day rhythm changes with weather and time. In fact, many of the activities exist just for the sake of giving the world texture, like playing flutes near willows or sharing drinks under lanterns.

You can shape your build around close-quarters brawls, ranged attacks, stealth, or a mix of everything. The weapon list ranges from the familiar sword and spear to dual blades, glaive, fan, and umbrella. You can also shift between these along with bows and martial arts like Taichi.

If you’ve followed the game over the past year, you’ll probably recognize scale as its defining trait. It has regions piled on top of more regions. There are tons of factions, professions, activities, and distractions. You can wander alone, or turn it into a co-op experience.

Check out the game on the Google Play Store.
