How To Mine Each Rock In The Forge

Pickaxe bouncing off the minerals you want to mine? You might need an upgrade… but what upgrade do you need? That’s what this guide on how to mine each rock in The Forge is for. We’ll let you know what gear you need to break a particular rock, so you can skip pickaxes if needed.

How To Mine Each Rock In The Forge

We’ll run over each of the rocks we tested in-game, and list below all the pickaxes that are usable for them.

Pebble

The Pebble has a minimum damage stat of 0. To mine Pebbles, you can use one of the following pickaxes:

• Stone Pickaxe (5 Damage)
• Bronze Pickaxe (7 Damage)
• Iron Pickaxe (10 Damage)
• Gold Pickaxe (16 Damage)
• Platinum Pickaxe (24 Damage)
• Stonewake’s Pickaxe (33 Damage)
• Cobalt Pickaxe (40 Damage)
• Titanium Pickaxe (55 Damage)
• Uranium Pickaxe (67 Damage)
• Mythril Pickaxe (80 Damage)
• Lightite Pickaxe (100 Damage)
• Arcane Pickaxe (115 Damage)
• Magma Pickaxe (135 Damage)
• Demonic Pickaxe (180 Damage)

Rock

The Rock has a minimum damage stat of 6. To mine Rocks, you can use one of the following pickaxes:

• Bronze Pickaxe (7 Damage)
• Iron Pickaxe (10 Damage)
• Gold Pickaxe (16 Damage)
• Platinum Pickaxe (24 Damage)
• Stonewake’s Pickaxe (33 Damage)

The Boulder has a minimum damage stat of 13. To mine Boulders, you can use one of the following pickaxes:

Basalt Rock

The Basalt Rock has a minimum damage stat of 16. To mine Basalt Rock, you can use one of the following pickaxes:

• Gold Pickaxe (16 Damage)
• Platinum Pickaxe (24 Damage)
• Stonewake’s Pickaxe (33 Damage)
• Cobalt Pickaxe (40 Damage)
• Titanium Pickaxe (55 Damage)
• Uranium Pickaxe (67 Damage)
• Mythril Pickaxe (80 Damage)
• Lightite Pickaxe (100 Damage)
• Arcane Pickaxe (115 Damage)
• Magma Pickaxe (135 Damage)

Basalt Core

The Basalt Core has a minimum damage stat of 39. To mine Basalt Core, you can use one of the following pickaxes:

• Cobalt Pickaxe (40 Damage)
• Titanium Pickaxe (55 Damage)
• Uranium Pickaxe (67 Damage)
• Mythril Pickaxe (80 Damage)
• Lightite Pickaxe (100 Damage)
• Arcane Pickaxe (115 Damage)
• Magma Pickaxe (135 Damage)
• Demonic Pickaxe (180 Damage)

Basalt Veins

The Basalt Vein has a minimum damage stat of 78. To mine Basalt Veins, you can use one of the following pickaxes:

• Mythril Pickaxe (80 Damage)
• Lightite Pickaxe (100 Damage)
• Arcane Pickaxe (115 Damage)
• Magma Pickaxe (135 Damage)
• Demonic Pickaxe (180 Damage)

Volcanic Rock

The Volcanic has a minimum damage stat of 100. To mine Volcanic Rocks, you can use one of the following pickaxes:

• Lightite Pickaxe (100 Damage)
• Arcane Pickaxe (115 Damage)
• Magma Pickaxe (135 Damage)
• Demonic Pickaxe (180 Damage)

How Do We Know This?

We’re not just saying this stuff about how to mine each rock in The Forge off the top of our heads, let us explain how we worked this all out. Every pickaxe has a stat called Damage. This determines the base damage that they do to the rocks around them. Each rock also has a Minimum Damage stat, which your pickaxe needs to pass to do any damage to the rock.

This is the main reason, besides efficiency, to keep buying new pickaxes when you can afford to do so.
