The Teamfight Tactics Open, Riot Games’ largest Teamfight Tactics esports event of the year, will take place in Paris, France in 2025.

Alongside the LAN tournament, the event will also feature discussions with developers, meet and greets and various activations and special events.

The TFT Open is an open bracket tournament in Teamfight Tactics in which competitors purchase slots and compete in front of a large audience. The tournament’s first edition took place in 2023, and this year’s event is set to take place later this month in Macau.

The interesting format has proven to be a success for the autobattler game, with more than 2,000 people applying for the Macao Open in minutes, according to Riot Games. In the end, 512 players enter the competition, which has a substantial, $308,500 (~£242,500) prize pool.

Not much is known about the Paris event apart from the fact that it will also be the last competitive event of the year and will likely take place sometime in December.

Michael Sherman, Global Head of Esports for TFT and 2XKO, commented: “We’re excited to bring our biggest esports event of the year to Paris. It’s a city that has a rich history of hosting both Riot competitions and major sporting events so it was a natural choice to be the host city for our first TFT Open in Europe. We have tons of talented competitive players across Europe and are looking forward to seeing them compete at the TFT Paris Open closer to home.”

Paris was recently home to the 2024 League of Legends World Championship, during which matches from the quarterfinals and semifinals took place in the city’s Adidas Arena.
