30 Nov eSport Infinix named official gaming phone of 2024 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship November 30, 2024 Posted by GataGames Leave a comment Image credit: PUBG MOBILE Chinese smartphone company Infinix has announced a partnership with PUBG MOBILE the game’s end-of-year event, the 2024 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (2024 PMGC). The partnership will see Infinix launch the PGMC Awards, provide watch parties across a variety of countries and offer an all-inclusive trip to London for the PUBG Mobile Campus Championship Nigeria 2024 winners. The specific phone that will become the ‘official gaming phone’ of the event is the Infinix GT 20 Pro. The product, created with mobile gaming in mind, features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate chipset and features an esports mode. As part of the partnership, Infinix will host watch parties across the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Egypt, Morocco, Pakistan, Indonesia, Thailand and Nigeria so PUBG MOBILE fans can watch the event. Infinix will also be bringing the Unity Titans to London, the winners of the 2024 PMCC Nigeria, a regional event presented by Infinix. The 2024 PMGC is a 48-team event with a $3m (~£2.36m) prize pool taking place in two stages, the first of which was a closed offline event held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from October 31st to November 24th. The second stage, the Grand Finals, is set to take place in London, UK from December 6th to 8th. In total, 15 teams from the first stage compete alongside the host country’s representative, which has been selected as Guild Esports. The final part of the partnership will see Infinix launch the MVP Awards and 2024 PMGC Awards whereby the MVP of the event will be selected directly by PUBG MOBILE. This is not Infinix’s first time getting involved in esports as the company was a sponsor MPL Philippines Season 12 which took place in 2023.
