Old School RuneScape Drops Varlamore: The Rising Darkness With New Bosses And Quests

Old School RuneScape is dropping a new chapter, Varlamore: The Rising Darkness today. This latest update offers a fresh journey through the expanded northern regions, where you’ll get to face a deadly new challenge.

What’s In Store?

First up, there’s a massive serpent named Hueycoatl in the chilling Hailstorm Mountains. You need to make the trek up the snowy peaks and join forces with some unexpected allies. To take down the formidable beast, you’ll join the members of the Dwarven Party and a priest.

Defeating Hueycoatl comes with some amazing loot. Among the rewards are the Tome of Earth and a Dragon Hunter Wand, which is the first dragonbane weapon infused with Magic. You also get a Hueycoatl Hide Armour, which proves you’ve bested the beast.

Old School RuneScape Varlamore: The Rising Darkness has more in store beyond the icy heights. Head over to the island of Aldarin, where you can try your hand at some new Herblore activities. It’s the place to grow, mix and master alchemy with an array of herbs.

Need a break from crafting potions and fighting serpents? You might want to tackle the Colossal Wyrm Agility Course. Worm Tongue, an ageing anteater, could use your help saving the remains of the Colossal Wyrm from a nasty termite infestation.

Saving the Wyrm will get you Agility XP and a bunch of rewards, like the Varlamore Graceful Recolour, an awesome accessory. There’s a skeleton transmog for your Squirrel pet after you complete the course.

Old School RuneScape Brings Quests With Varlamore: The Rising Darkness

If you’ve been following along with Children of the Sun and Twilight’s Promise, the new quest The Heart of Darkness continues the storyline. You’ll be investigating the Twilight Emissaries to uncover who’s trying to assassinate Servius.
