While VALORANT Champions 2024 is entering its final stage in Seoul, South Korea, game publisher Riot Games has announced its VCT OFF//SEASON schedule to keep fans entertained until the start of the new season.

The competitive circuit will see four Ascension tournaments take place, alongside new Challengers competitions and the Game Changers World Championship, the premiere female VALORANT competition. Additionally, over 30 OFF//SEASON events will take place with Riot Games also launching mixed-gender tournaments in the same period.

The four Ascension tournaments will be taking place during the month of September as top Challenger teams will battle to earn a chance into their respective International Leagues and compete at the highest level possible. Starting next year, Riot announced major changes to the promotion system, including the removal of the fixed two-year term length for Ascension teams and capping each league to 12 teams. Below is the official schedule for the four Ascension tournaments:

  • VCT Ascension Americas (September 9th – 21st)
  • VCT Ascension EMEA (August 31st – September 15th)
  • VCT Ascension PACIFIC (September 20th – 29th)
  • VCT ASCENSION CHINA (September 11th – 21st)

After Ascension concludes, Challenger teams will also feature new tournaments that aim to ‘bridge the gap between the 2024 and 2025 seasons’, according to Riot Games’ post. The events will see top Challenger and Premier teams compete for prizing during the free agency period.

Starting in September, Riot has also revealed a total of 34 events across the four major regions (Pacific, EMEA, Americas, and China). In particular, VCT Pacific will get a total of 14 events, with EMEA, Americas and China getting eight, 10 and two events, respectively.

Some notable OFF//SEASON events include Convergence 2024 (Pacific), Red Bull Home Ground (EMEA), Sentinels Showmatch (Americas) and the Ludwig x Tarik Invitational 3 (Americas).

In November, Riot will host the Game Changers Championship at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, Germany. The 10 best female teams will compete for the championship from November 8th to November 17th.

With the playoffs stage starting on August 14th, VCT Champions has registered a peak viewership of 768,051, according to the analytics platform Esports Charts, with an average viewership of 373,719. While viewership is currently lower compared to last year, the presence of teams from each VCT league in playoffs will likely increase the numbers over the upcoming days.
