20 Feb eSport ESL Pro League Season 11 Finals to be held in Denver February 20, 2020 Posted by GataGames Leave a comment ESL has announced that the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Pro League Finals will take place in Denver, Colorado for Season 11. The 1st Bank Center will play host to the LAN finals over April 10-12th, with teams competing for a share of the $750,000 (£583,203.75) prize pool. Photo credit: ESL RELATED: ESL partners with U.S. Air Force for IEM, Pro League, AnyKey 24 teams in total will be taking part in the Pro League this season after initial invites were brought into question by rival league FLASHPOINT. 13 teams – including Astralis, Fnatic, and G2 Esports – are now stakeholders through long-term partnerships and cannot be relegated. From March 16th, the four groups of teams will compete in a round robin format for the eight spots available in the playoffs. In addition to a place in the finals, teams have the chance to win Pro Tour points necessary to make it to ESL One Cologne later in the year due to the Pro League’s integration with the wider ESL Pro Tour. RELATED: ESL establishes long-term partnerships for CS:GO Pro League The regular season will be played in Europe, leaving just one day between the final group stage matches, the final play-in game, and the opening matches of the playoffs. The ESL Pro League will be sponsored by the U.S. Air Force as part of a larger partnership that also includes IEM events in North America and AnyKey. U.S. Air Force will host on-site activations and produce dedicated content for the league’s broadcast through its eleventh season. Esports Insider says: With a war being waged between ESL and FACEIT through their respective leagues, ESL has now made announcements of its own regarding location and talent for its upcoming Pro League while details are still unknown for FLASHPOINT. While it looks good on the surface, the length of the season and apparent scheduling issues might cause issues further down the line.
