New Crash Bandicoot Game Leaks, But It's Not What You Were Expecting

It looks like there’s a new Crash Bandicoot game on the way, but it’s probably not what you were imagining. Recent leaks suggest the jort-wearing bandicoot will star in an endless runner that’s in the works for mobile.

The leak comes via Facebook ads showing artwork for a new Crash Bandicoot mobile game. The images have since made their way onto Twitter where there’s a visible logo for King, the Activision-owned developer behind Candy Crush Saga. The in-game screenshots also suggest you’ll be swiping Crash from one side of the screen to the other to collect wumpa fruit and smash through crates.

The game’s description was briefly available on the app store testing company, Storemaven, but has since been removed. Fortunately, Kotaku grabbed a screenshot, which you can see below:

It might not be what most fans want, but Crash is still a good fit for an endless runner mobile game. Plus, there’s still hope for a more traditional Crash game after Activision’s latest earnings report. CEO Bobby Kotick said the company plans to release even more remasters and reimaginings of classic games from its catalogue following the success of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and the most recently released Crash Team Racing: Nitro-fueled.
