Intel World Open brings esports to 2020 Summer Olympics

Intel announced the Intel World Open, an esports tournament that will take place on the lead up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in Japan.

The tournament will feature Street Fighter V and Rocket League with a total prize pool of $500,000 (£405,175) on the line.

TSM to open headquarters and practice facility in L.A.

North American organisation TSM announced the construction of a new 25,000 square foot headquarters and practice facility.

The building, which will act as the home base for the organisation’s entire workforce, is set to open in early 2020.

Chicago, London, and Seattle announced for Call of Duty league

NRG Esports, Rogue, and Luminosity Gaming have secured what’s expected to be the final three franchises in the upcoming Call of Duty league.

NRG Esports has acquired Chicago, London is owned by Rogue’s parent company ReKTGlobal, and Luminosity Gaming’s parent company Enthusiast Gaming has bought Seattle alongside Aquilini Investment Group.

Nike debuts team kits for League of Legends Pro League

Nike unveiled the official kits for the 16 teams that compete in the League of Legends Pro League (LPL).

The deal was first announced back in February with a four-year partnership being penned between Nike and LPL organiser TJ Sports. Nike became the league’s official apparel and footwear partner.
