BLAST Pro Series Moscow partners with Terminator: Dark Fate


RFRSH Entertainment has announced 20th Century Fox’s film Terminator: Dark Fate as the latest partner for BLAST Pro Series Moscow.

The partnership will include the screening of exclusive behind-the-scenes content from the movie. Fans in the arena will also be able to win themed merchandise, with further collaborations due to be revealed before long.

Leo Matlock, Head of Commercial Solutions at BLAST Pro Series discussed the partnership:  “Having a unique, holistic partnership with such a high-octane film franchise as The Terminator, and the legendary entertainment company 20th Century Fox will help make sure the fans at our first-ever Moscow tournament have an incredible experience. We are delighted to work them and our team in Russia on such an exciting fan engagement project.”

BLAST Pro Series Moscow is set to take place on September 13-14th at the VTB Arena, where a total prize pool of $250,000 (£206,000) will be on offer. Among the teams in attendance are Natus Vincere, ENCE, Ninjas in Pyjamas, MIBR, and Team Vitality. forZe and AVANGAR are currently competing for the final spot in the tournament, with a victor emerging on September 13th. 

Anastasia Polyakova, Acting Marketing Director of 20th Century Fox also commented: “We are very glad to work with one of the largest esports tournaments. As part of this partnership, two cultural phenomena have come together for us. “Terminator” has become a solid part of pop culture, uniting people of different generations and interests. We are sure that for many gamers and esports fans, Terminator is the film which raised their interest in science fiction. Counter-Strike is truly a game to folk, that has won the love of a wide audience and gave players the opportunity to travel to virtual worlds. We are sure that “Terminator: Dark Fate” will win the hearts of the audience, and BLAST Pro Series guests will be the first to be convinced of this by watching exclusive film materials.”

Japanese car manufacturer Toyota was also recently named a partner for the BLAST Pro Series Moscow. Bookmaker Betway, gaming hardware brand OMEN by HP, and streaming platform Twitch have all been named as global sponsors for the BLAST Pro Series.

Esports Insider says: RFRSH is evidently keen on getting involved in the growing trend of esports and movie partnerships. While it’s hard to tell how successful these partnerships are, it’s clear movie studios are keen on utilising the audience that esports has.
