Baldur’s Gate II and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition is Back on Google Play

Beamdog
have finally delivered on their promise to get Baldur’s Gate II and Icewind
Dale back on the Play store.

What happened to Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale?

To cut a
long story short, Google changed its policy on disclosure of data gathering.
This meant automatically gathering player’s information was no longer allowed.

The two
games above both used an automated data collection method for when either game
crashed. This meant that they sent your devices specs or other personal
information back to the developers as a crash report.

A
secondary problem to how Google Play now works means games or applications need
to go through Android Studio. So Beamdog spent most the time rebuilding their
games to fit the new standard laid out by Google.
