In-store meet-and-greets will also be hosted throughout 2019. Ryan Musselman, President of Infinite Esports & Entertainment discussed the deal in a release: “Our local communities comprise key elements of the Houston Outlaws’ identity, and H-E-B continues to play a major role in supporting the Houston, Austin, and San Antonio markets. Through H-E-B, we can ensure our players have the proper food and nourishment they need to continue competing at the professional level.” Houston Outlaws, alongside its sister organisation OpTic Gaming, was among a number of Texas-based esports brands to partner with GameStop in March. The Overwatch League franchise is also partnered with T-Mobile and Turtle Beach. Cory Basso, Vice President of Marketing and Advertising for H-E-B Group added: “We are excited to be an official sponsor of the Houston Outlaws. Our customers are participating in esports, and we’re looking forward to our first esports sponsorship in the Overwatch League.” Esports Insider says: Houston Outlaws has a responsive and engaged audience online, hopefully that can translate to physical means too – for both the home & away matches coming in 2020 and local partnerships such as this.
