Interactive Game Wednesdays Mobile Tells the Story of Childhood Trauma, Out Now

The narrative-driven game Wednesdays Mobile is now available on Android. It brings interactive storytelling with management gameplay while addressing difficult real-world themes. The Pixel Hunt has developed it, while ARTE France has published it.

The game released in 2025 first for PC (Windows and Mac). It deals with themes of incest and sexual abuse as a child. The game received praise for how it handled its themes. It received nominations for a Nuovo Award and an Excellence in Narrative Award at the 2026 Independent Games Festival.

Wednesdays Mobile has a heavy theme

The game centres on Tim, who, like many children, was a victim of sexual abuse. Twenty years later, while playing Orco Park, a video game from his childhood, his memories begin to resurface. Difficult questions arise about how the events happened, who knew about them, how they shaped his life, and what normal even means.

The story was written by Pierre Corbinais, known for Haven, Road 96: Prologue, and Bury Me, My Love. The project aims to raise awareness about child sexual abuse through a story that’s surprisingly uplifting.

Wednesdays Mobile is a mosaic of stories and characters, presenting a fragmented narrative through multiple perspectives. You build rides and embellishments in Orco Park to unlock Tim’s memories in any order you choose.

You also step into the roles of Tim’s relatives to piece together the complicated memories of his past. The story focuses on intrafamilial sexual abuse and attempts to present the topic sincerely without taboo, while emphasising emotional themes such as trust, hope, and healing.

The game uses two distinct art styles that complement each other. Tim’s memories are illustrated by comic artist Exaheva, known for Mekka Nikki and Still Heroes. Its inspiration is from alternative comics and graphic novels.

Meanwhile, Orco Park is presented in a pixel art style designed by Nico Nowak, who worked on There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension. These visuals were inspired by classic video games from the 90’s era. Watch a few trailers and see for yourself.
