28 Mar Mobile Gaming Acron: Attack of the Squirrels Drops Its First Update in Five Years, Cherry Glade March 28, 2026 Posted by GataGames Leave a comment After more than five years without a major overhaul, Resolution Games finally dropped an update for its party title Acron: Attack of the Squirrels! It introduces a new level, Cherry Glade, alongside some technical improvements and gameplay tweaks. In the title, one player takes on the role of a towering tree in VR, defending a stash of golden acorns. Meanwhile, between 1 and 8 other participants join through mobile devices as squirrels attempting to steal them. So, what does Cherry Glade bring to Acron: Attack of the Squirrels? Cherry Glade introduces a spring-themed environment that changes the flow of play compared to earlier maps. Instead of straightforward runs toward the tree, squirrels now have access to a sideways arc style of movement that allows them to approach from multiple angles. Characters such as Zip, Chunk, Doug and Sim can weave, dodge and zig-zag in less predictable patterns. The result is a more scattered and reactive style of defense and watching a single direction is no longer enough to secure the acorns. The new update also focuses on stability and synchronisation. Interactions involving mushrooms, Sunset Field buttons, bots and water have been refined to better align between players. Also, additional work addresses high-ping issues reported by parts of the player base. Grab the update The update is a free addition for existing owners. The full game remains available across Meta Quest 2, 3, 3S and Pro, as well as SteamVR platforms, including HTC Vive, Valve Index, and Rift, and PICO headsets. For Android players, the companion app is available on the Google Play Store. Acron: Attack of the Squirrels! needs at least one VR participant and between 1 and 8 mobile players connected through the companion app. The game also supports cross-platform play, in case you’re wondering.
