Ultimate Mashle Academy Tier List – Races, Clans, Magic, Traits

There’s a lot of different things that go into building a character in Mashle Academy. Many things to consider… and flipping between tier list pages is annoying. So, we’ve put every Mashle Academy tier list we’re making all in one place as a one-stop reference for working on your build. We’ll also link to any other relevant guides we do from this one, so make sure to look through the linked guides, too.

Ultimate Mashle Academy Tier List

If you want a specific list, just jump to it using the table of contents below.

Mashle Academy Race Tier List

First up, player races.

S Tier

The meta races right now.

  • Angel – Comes with an Awakening move, and also improves your parries. (Parry skill not included, you’ll have to bring your own.)
  • Devil

A Tier

Not quite the meta but still very strong.

  • Elf – Stamina regen is pretty useful.

B Tier

Still viable but not very exciting.

  • Orc – Its effectiveness depends on how much an opponent is going to physically attack you. (Which they might not do once they figure you’re an orc.)
  • Dark Elf – Kind of the Orc in reverse, though maybe a little better as it’s magic resistance instead.
  • Vastaya – If you’re very reliant on dodge then you might make a really effective build out of it.

C Tier

Pretty underwhelming. You should probably reroll unless you have a plan in mind.

  • Human – These are only useful in that they are easier to get Hybrid with… but if a race’s main talent is it’s easier to stop being that race it… probably wasn’t great to start with.

D Tier

Not very good.

Mashle Academy Clan Tier List

Next, onto player clans.

S Tier

The best ones around so far.

A Tier

Still pretty good.

B Tier

  • Ames
  • Barrett
  • Grantz
  • Revol
  • Zoan

C Tier

  • Blowelive
  • Crown
  • Macaron
  • Perfect
  • Walker
  • War

D Tier

No bonuses at all. Easiest reroll.

Mashle Academy Magic Tier List

Okay, onto magic powers.

S Tier

High-powered magic. The meta magic right now.

  • Timez – Freezing your opponent in place never gets old, and you can just ‘No you didn’t’ a lethal attack.

A Tier

Great movesets that still hold up really well.

  • Darkness
  • Muscles
  • Partisans
  • Spaces

B Tier

Not bad, though nothing to write home about.

  • Charm
  • Graviole
  • Ice
  • Lightning
  • Sands
  • Sounds

C Tier

These aren’t that great. You may want to look for another one.

  • Fire
  • Roks
  • Tornegus
  • Waters

D Tier

Definitely get another type of magic. These aren’t good.

Mashle Academy Traits Tier List

Last set of tiers for now covers character traits.

S Tier

Standout traits.

  • There’s actually nothing that seems totally broken right now.

A Tier

These might make a major impact on your build.

  • Energetic – More Stamina will make a difference.
  • Evolving – Good for levelling.
  • Guarded – More posture can turn a battle.
  • Healthy – More health is always handy.

B Tier

Decent.

  • Agile – Gotta go fast.
  • Brawn – Useful if you’re all-in on physical attacks.
  • Durable – Less damage.
  • Hasty – Great if you have some powerful moves, but the cooldown only applies to long cooldown moves.
  • Magical – Brawn but with magic. Probably a little more useful.

C Tier

  • Lucky – Not a ton more damage.

D Tier

  • Nothing that’s particularly bad right now.

FAQ

Finally, we’ll round this off with a few important questions you might have.

What’s a race in Mashle Academy?

Race refers to what type of creature your player character is. They might be a human, or one of a range of fantasy creatures. Some are much rarer than others, and if you want something better than what you have, you’ll probably have to rerolls for it.

What’s a clan?

A clan is a special buff tied to your character’s name. You’ll get one randomly. It’s kind of a rough rule, but you can usually assume that the more powerful a character is in the series, the more powerful the clan is.

What’s a magic type?

Magic refers to a bunch of powersets you can acquire in-game. Some are attached to elements, some are slightly more esoteric, like space, charms, and… partisans?

What’s a trait?

A trait is a buff applied to your character. You’ll get one on character creation, and acquire more by playing and levelling.

Some of the clans/races/magics aren’t on the tier list, what gives?

Tier lists are our rating of the different things. We’ve put together based on both our gameplay experience, community opinion, and the raw numbers associated. If we can’t get enough information on something, we’ll leave it off the tier list until we do, rather than give you info we can’t be sure is accurate.

When do you update the tier lists?

We tend to update whenever there’s a significant rebalance, or the devs add a new race, clan, magic or trait. This can cause the whole list to move around as things that were the Meta choice to start with usually get bumped down the list over time as power creep kicks in.

I disagree with one of your choices.

If you think we’ve got something wrong and we’ve over or underrated something, you can let us know in the comments. We might have missed something. If we’re wrong, we’ll change it, then be thrown into the Droid Gamers tiger pit for our failures. It’s tough but fair.

How do I get some rerolls?

Devs often hand out rerolls in the form of gift codes. Luckily, we have put together a Mashle Academy codes guide, too.
