Legacy Of Kain Fans Can Now Preorder A Stunning Map Of Nosgoth

The Legacy of Kain series is steadily making a comeback after decades of hibernation. We’ve seen ports and remasters of classic games in the series like Soul Reaver and Legacy of Kain: Defiance, as well as a new spin-off game, Legacy of Kain: Ascendance, launching later this month. These releases have been bolstered by graphic novels and other content that flesh out the world-building of the cult-classic vampire fantasy series, including an all-new Legacy of Kain: Map of Nosgoth, coming soon from graphic novel publisher Dark Horse. Illustrated by renowned artist Francesca Baerald, the Nosgoth map pulls landmarks, regions, and fan-favorite characters from across the entire Legacy of Kain series to create a unique work of cartographic art. Priced at $50, it’s now available to preorder exclusively through the Dark Horse Direct Store ahead of its release, which is tentatively planned for late Spring 2025.

After centuries of conflict, the map reflects the state of Nosgoth and the brutal wars it has endured, with iconic locations like the horrific gardens at Dark Eden to the nine Pillars of Nosgoth featured on it. Each corner of the map is also anchored by iconic heroes and adversaries, such as Raziel (top right), Kain, Janos Audron, Vorador (top left), Moebius (bottom right), Mortanius (bottom left), and Ariel (bottom center). As an added touch, the Elder God extends his arms and watchful eyes along the print’s borders.

If you’re looking to relive the series, you can play the entire series on modern consoles and PC thanks to several ports and remasters. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered includes enhanced versions of Soul Reaver and Soul Reaver 2–which originally launched on the PS1 and PS2, respectively–as well as the option to swap back to the original graphics on the fly, in-game galleries full of art, and behind-the-scenes materials.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered offers a similar experience, and even includes a playable demo for its cancelled sequel, Legacy of Kain: Dark Legacy. The remaster launched earlier this month on digital storefronts for PC, PS5, and Xbox. It will also come to Switch 2 and Switch, but those versions were delayed shortly before launch. Physical editions are also on the way, but Crystal Dynamics says it’s still in the planning stage. Meanwhile, the original game, Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen, and its sequel, Blood Omen 2, are both available via the PlayStation Store, Steam, and GOG.

While the classic games will catch you up on the story so far, the series is getting its first new entry in 22 years with Legacy of Kain: Ascendence, a 2D side-scrolling action game launching March 21 that sees players taking the roles of Kain, Raziel, and new character Elaleth across multiple eras of Nosgoth’s history. Digital preorders are available now on PC and consoles.
