A Lego PlayStation Is Coming This Year, Report Claims

Lego enthusiasts can soon build and own the original PlayStation in brick form, according to a prolific leaker purporting that a Lego set based on Sony’s first console is releasing at the end of 2026.

An Instagram user with the name lego_minecraft_goat, who has a history of leaking Lego sets, claimed in a post that a 1,911-piece PlayStation set including “at least the controller and the console” will be out this December, costing $160. The user captioned the post: “I hope I will exist tomorrow.”

The PlayStation wouldn’t be the first major video game console to receive the Lego treatment–Lego put out several Nintendo-themed sets starting in 2020, including a now-retired 2,646-piece NES set. Last year, Lego released a remarkably authentic 421-piece recreation of the original Game Boy.

Last year, Lego also launched a set based on Sony’s Horizon franchise, tying in with the Lego Horizon Adventures video game that released on PS5, Switch, and PC in 2024.

With the reported PlayStation Lego set said to have fewer pieces than the NES set, it does prompt the question of what else the set might come with besides recreations of the controller and console. The NES set included builds for a Super Mario Bros. cartridge and a CRT TV (all non-functional, of course). That set also cost $270 when it released, over $100 more than what the PlayStation set will reportedly retail for.

Recent Lego sets based on video game properties have heavily skewed toward Nintendo, with multiple sets based on Pokemon for the franchise’s 30th anniversary and some Mario-themed ones revealed on Mario Day.
