Bizarre Lineage Civilians – Where Are They?

If you’re a budding vampire in Bizarre Lineage, you might, like us, have a big problem on your hands. That one mission that’s making you tear your hair out. It’s not one with hard combat, it’s not one with a lot of grind. You just… can’t find the targets. Bizarre Lineage Civilians, where on earth are they? We know we’re not the only ones with this issue, so we put this guide together to try and offer at least a bit of advice.

Bizarre Lineage Civilians – Where Are They?

What Are Civilians?

Civilians are neutral mobs in Bizarre Lineage. They have barely any attack or health, and really just exist to represent regular people going about their lives, blissfully unaware that people who can summon ghost that punch people to death are running straight by them. (Until, I guess, one of those people uppercuts them into a low orbit.)

If you see one you can walk up to them and hold the Interact command over them to pickpocket them. As it turns out, people don’t like getting pickpocketed, and doing this will caused the Civilian to swing on you.

Where Do You Find Civilians?

In theory, you should be able to find Civilians at the square, near Bus Stop 1 and the Kira Raid. You should be able to find them wandering randomly in the streets around this area. They will wander further afield, but tend to despawn if they get too far away from that area.

I Can’t Find Any Civilians, What Is Going On?

Many such cases. There seems to be something a little strange about Civilian spawning. We have noticed a lot of players frustrated that they can’t seem to find Civilians anywhere, and they’re often left wondering if they even appear in the game at all.

We wound up testing this, and waited around near Bus Stop 1 in several servers. For most of the testing time, we saw zero Civilians in the area. Eventually, after stepping away and returning, we noticed two. (We screenshotted the first quickly, hence the title image.)

If we were going to guess why the Civilians are so scarce, it might be because their pathfinding causes them to wander away from the plaza and quickly despawn, and that it takes a while for a new set to respawn. Given this seems to be an issue a bunch of players have problems with, hopefully the devs will tweak it a little in future updates.

What’s The Big Deal With Civilians Anyway?

It’s not about pickpocketing, honest. Most players looking for Civilians have one thing in mind… and it will not end well for those Civilians. Part of the An Ancient Evil questline, needed to unlock all of the Vampire Moveset, requires you to take out 30 innocent civilians. It is pretty annoying when you can’t find anyone to fight, though.
