CoD: Black Ops 7 And Warzone Season 2 Reloaded Release Date And Details

Season 2 Reloaded arrives in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone next week, and Activision has revealed all the details for this midseason update. Season 2 Reloaded is packed with more guns to unlock, additional multiplayer maps, a new Zombies map, and Warzone’s Black Ops battle royale.

Call of Duty Season 2 Reloaded start times

The Season 2 Reloaded update arrives to Black Ops 7 and Warzone on March 11. This update will go live at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST across all platforms. It’s worth noting that Warzone’s Black Ops Royale mode will be released separately from the Season 2 Reloaded update. This battle royale experience goes live on Thursday, March 12 at 9 PM PT / Friday, March 13 at 12 AM ET.

Events and new weapons

There will be new seasonal events with reward tracks that offer cosmetic items as well as the two final weapons for the season.

The Counter Skies event will include cosmetic rewards themed around Warzone’s Black Ops Royale. This event includes both free and paid passes, and Call of Duty’s paid event passes are usually priced at $10. The event also includes the new Swordfish A1 marksman rifle and the Backlash Launcher attachment for the Echo 12 shotgun as free rewards.

The season’s Altitude Tactics event offers cosmetic rewards and the new Voyak KT-3 assault rifle. Activision doesn’t mention a paid pass for Altitude Tactics, so this is likely an entirely free event.

Zombies also gets a leaderboard event for the new Paradox Junction map. The rewards for this include GobbleGums, weapon camos, and more.

Multiplayer maps

The midseason adds five more maps to Black Ops 7’s multiplayer map pool.

Torque is a brand-new small map designed for 6v6 and 2v2 modes, and it’s inspired by the Battle of Los Angeles campaign mission from Black Ops 2. Cliff Town is a standard 6v6 map introduced as a reimagined version of the Yemen multiplayer map from Black Ops 2.

Mission: Peak is a new large-scale map for Black Ops 7’s 20v20 Skirmish mode, and the setting is the area in and around a medieval fortress. Additionally, Firing Range from Black Ops 1 and Grind from Black Ops 2 return as standard multiplayer maps.

New multiplayer game modes

Season 2 Reloaded adds a new mode called Gauntlet. In Gauntlet, two teams of six compete through a series of randomized game modes, and the mode changes every two minutes. The first team to reach the score limit for the Gauntlet wins.

Call of Duty’s popular Infected party mode also returns.

New scorestreak

A new scorestreak arrives in both multiplayer and Zombies. The Lockshot scorestreak is a smart pistol that lets players mark several targets at once and eliminates them one after the other.

New Zombies map

Season 2 Reloaded introduces Paradox Junction as the next standard round-based map for Zombies. For this map, the crew are trapped in a time loop, where they travel between past and future (nuked) versions of Nuketown. The map includes a main story quest, Cursed mode, and new Pack-a-Punch camos.

The map’s special rounds feature “Rad-Hounds.” These enemies explode and cause radioactive damage, and they sound similar to the Plague Hounds from Black Ops Cold War.

Paradox Junction also finally addresses the missing character from a previous Zombies storyline, tying Modern Warfare 3 Zombies to this ongoing Black Ops storyline.

New Wonder Weapon

The Blundergat returns with Paradox Junction. This is a Wonder Weapon that was originally featured on the Mob of the Dead map in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. This is a powerful shotgun with four barrels, but Activision teases it can also be upgraded into a more powerful variant by discovering hidden quest steps.

Endgame updates

The midseason update adds Glitches to Black Ops 7’s campaign Endgame. Glitches will appear after defeating a Strike boss, and these are repeatable, off-map, boss-fight experiences, where a player and up to three teammates must survive six waves and defeat the Glitch boss to acquire one of the season’s new Nightmare skills.

Additionally, the update adds an Exotic Fabricator. Much like the fabricators for the standard weapon rarities, this machine allows players the opportunity to upgrade any loadout or field acquisition weapon to an Exotic rarity.

Warzone modes

Season 2 Reloaded will include the new Black Ops Royale mode, which is an original battle royale mode inspired by Black Ops 4’s Blackout. Matches will feature 100 players in four-player squads on Avalon. While this map is currently used in the campaign’s Endgame mode, the Warzone version of Avalon has a slightly altered design to include more playable areas, ziplines, and more.

Black Ops Royale strips away several of Warzone’s features, including custom loadouts, the Gulag, the cash system, and Buy Stations. Instead, players will start the match with a pistol and need to scavenge everything for the fight. Guns found in the match are only from Black Ops 7’s weapon pool, and they can be upgraded with attachment kits. Black Ops Royale also has a different perk system.

Black Ops Royale isn’t replacing standard Warzone modes, so players can still expect Verdansk, Haven’s Hollow, and Rebirth Island to remain available. However, not a lot of information is revealed about the existing maps and modes. It’s unsure if there will be limited playlists for the other modes while Black Ops Royale is available.

One of the few announcements is that Haven’s Hollow is getting a 100-player Quads mode called Extreme Resurgence. The rules of the match are the same here, but Extreme Resurgence offers way more engagements with nearly double the player count.

There are also a few Warzone perk changes highlighted below.

Warzone perk changes

Warzone’s perks are getting overhauled for standard battle royale and Resurgence modes. Old perks are being traded out for new movement and awareness-based perks, so this will dramatically change the offerings available in the second and third perk slots.

For slot two, the Alertness perk is being replaced with the brand-new Momentum perk. The Momentum perk is designed to provide improved mobility and weapon handling while moving.

This includes close-quarters weapon handling, reduced consecutive-jump penalties, reduced fire delay when sliding, reduced hip-fire-spread, increased ADS-movement speed, and faster crouch and prone speeds.

Bomb Squad is also replaced in slot two with the new Berserker, which is geared toward rewarding aggression. Eliminating an enemy will give the player a short burst of enhanced action speed. Other player actions are sped up during this time as well, including equipment

use, weapon swaps, reloading, stance changes, and armor-plating swaps.

For perk slot three, Tracker is replaced by the new Hunter perk. Hunter is more like a combination of Tracker and the old Awareness perk. This means it will allow players to briefly outline and see the footprints of enemies damaged by their bullets, sense enemies within 30 meters of their position, and sense when being aimed at.
