What’s Up With The Garden Horizons Helicopter?

Garden Horizons players have spotted something in the skies of their servers today, and everyone is scratching their heads about what it might mean. We decided to look into what’s up with the Garden Horizons helicopter, and the whole thing took us down kind of a rabbithole. This is kind of a weird one.

What’s Up With The Garden Horizons Helicopter?

Okay, we’ll explain the basics first before we get into the extended lore, at least.

What Is The Helicopter?

The Helicopter is a strange sight in the skies in Garden Horizons. It’s a chopper that appears to be circling the little island from the air. It doesn’t land, and does not appear to do anything relevant to gameplay just yet. It appears to be present regardless of the weather, we’ve caught screenshots of the helicopter in several different weather events.

What Does It Mean?

As far as we can tell, reports of the helicopter only started as of the 26th of February. This is the day after the Garden Horizons team announced the new update, so it’s probably connected to that in some way, but the clues run deeper than that.

The Deep Lore

If you explored the island thoroughly in early versions after release you might have stumbled on a transceiver hidden on top of a hill behind Steve’s Seed Shop. If you go up here in the more recent builds as of February 25th, you’ll only find a flat terrace area.

On the transceiver itself, you could make out the initials ‘I.G.M.A’ and what appears to be morse code. Regrettably, we only had access to a screenshot of the the transceiver where the lighting blocked out a few of the marks. Basically, our initial attempts to translate weren’t flawless.

We’re almost certain though, that the morse code translates to: ‘COORDINATES RECEIVED CONVOY INBOUND’. So we we expect that it does tie into the same reason that the chopped is circling the island. It appears that

It seems maybe a tiny bit suspicious that a large, flat surface on a high spot appears in a minor update that also hides the area where the transceiver had been.

Possibly, this was placed by someone as a way to mark out the spot for this structure. Maybe, this structure is, in fact, a landing pad, and the event unfolding live that update page is alluding to might be when the helicopter finally lands.

When Will We Know?

We’re pretty sure we’ll get some kind of definitive answer on what’s going on when the update and admin abuse drop this Sunday. That said, we may not even have to wait that long. The chopper and the possible landing pad appeared in minor patches through the week, so it’s quite possible we’ll know more in a day or two. (And of course, we’ll update this article as soon as we do know more, or find any notable map changes.)
