Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition Includes Five Versions Of Game, Interactive Documentary

The developers at Digital Eclipse have become the go-to experts for museum-style retro collections, and after tackling the likes of Atari and Mortal Kombat, the studio set its sights on Ubisoft’s sometimes-ignored mascot: Rayman.

Available tomorrow, February 13, Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition includes five different versions of the original Rayman game across PlayStation, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Atari Jaguar, and even MS-DOS. Alongside the content included in these versions when they launched, it also features 120 more levels, a playable SNES prototype, and a “faithfully reimagined soundtrack by composer Christophe Héral.”

There are also the usual retro-collection quality-of-life features like rewinding and infinite lives, as well as “over 50 minutes of brand-new interviews with the original developers,” according to the official announcement. If you’ve played Digital Eclipse’s previous retro collections, then you’ll be excited to see all the new behind-the-scenes material included here.

The Rayman series has been effectively on ice for years now, with the last mainline entry, Rayman Legends, releasing nearly 13 years ago. Starting February 13, you’ll be able to try out Rayman’s inaugural adventure on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.
