Call of Duty Mobile has unveiled an invitational tournament featuring 30 content creators from across the world.

The inaugural edition of the DMZ Recon Invitational takes place on February 6th, with teams competing for a share of a $50,000 (~£36,828) prize pool.

Launched in December 2025 as part of the title’s Season 11 update, DMZ Recon is Call of Duty Mobile’s take on an extraction shooter. Players drop into a range of maps to loot a variety of items while fighting a mixture of AI and human players. Similar to other extraction shooters, players must complete a successful extraction to keep their progress.

The DMZ Recon Invitational aims to showcase the mode, with the 30 content creators split into ten teams of three to compete for the lion’s share of the prize money. Creators taking part include 100 Thieves founder Matt ‘Nadeshot‘ Haag, former FaZe Clan streamer Kalei Renay, and former Call of Duty esports player Anthony ‘Methodz‘ Zinni.

Call of Duty Mobile is no stranger to hosting invitational events to showcase its esports scene. In August 2024, Tencent and Garena hosted an event featuring 16 teams from across Asia to compete for a ¥500,000 CNY (~£53,060) prize pool.

In addition to revealing the participants, fans tuning into the action can earn a variety of in-game rewards to use in the DMZ Recon mode. Rewards include in-game currency, DMZ vouchers, and an exclusive DMZ Recon skin for the Song Operator.

Call Of Duty Mobile Esports In 2026

Following the conclusion of 2025’s Call of Duty Mobile World Championship, Activision hasn’t shared any information surrounding the future of the title’s esports circuit.

Despite the lack of announcements, the publisher unveiled a revamped ruleset after gathering feedback from players competing at last year’s crowning event. Changes include a revised map pool, changes to weapon roles, and an increased Search and Destroy round win limit.
