Ninjas in Pyjamas extends Apex Legends roster contracts to 2027

Global esports organisation Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) has extended the contracts of its Apex Legends roster to 2027.

The trio of Nicholas ‘Vein‘ Hobbs, Cole ‘McLovin‘ Wilson, and Matias ‘Kurev‘ Riffel will continue representing the esports organisation for the next two Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) seasons.

The extension follows a strong Yea 5 ALGS season, in which the team finished second in Split 1 of the Americas Pro League and third at the Mid-Season Playoffs. At the recent ALGS Year 5 Championship, it scored a top-eight placement, taking home $60,000 (~£44,218) in prize money.

Ninjas in Pyjamas is one of the first organisations to reaffirm its commitment to Apex Legends esports following the season-ending event. In recent weeks, TSM has dropped its roster but aims to return with a new line-up before the new season gets underway.

The organisation first entered the battle royale title in June 2024, competing in the EMEA region. In 2025, it switched to the Americas with its current line-up cementing its place among the world’s best teams.

In recent months, the organisation has unveiled its rosters for other titles it competes in. December 2025 saw it unveil a revamped League of Legends roster competing in this year’s LPL season.

Following the conclusion of the ALGS Year 5 Championship, EA shared details on the 2026 esports roadmap for the battle royale title. Between April and January 2027, three LAN events will take place in addition to Pro League action, with teams competing for a $7m (~£5.1m) prize pool.

Before the action begins, the Season 28 update brings a wealth of changes set to impact the competitive scene. With the arrival of a new Hardlight Mesh map element and adjustments to Fuse’s ultimate ability, Ninjas in Pyjamas and other teams have plenty to master before the Pro League returns in April.
