Paranoize Is a New Manga-Style RPG with Monster Battles and Base Building

Paranoize is a story-driven mobile RPG with a manga and comics-like presentation. It’s from the Japanese development studio ZigZaGame, which is known for Tokyo Debunker, Evertale and Neo Monsters on Android.

Paranoize has an episodic narrative set in Japan

The story begins eleven years after a mysterious, colossal object fell into the mountains of Japan, an event that was believed to be a meteor. A decade later, the focus shifts to a secluded dojo where a blind youth trains with a wooden sword, guided by a voice only he can hear.

Gameplay in Paranoize unfolds chapter by chapter. Animated panels shift, zoom, and flow alongside dialogue and cinematic cutscenes featuring various anime characters. You get control over pacing, with options to speed up dialogues and animated cutscenes or skip them entirely.

Each chapter has multiple missions that reward you on completion. Some stages introduce Dark Enemies such as Cannibel. Clearing all stages and defeating the bosses unlocks subsequent chapters, while also rewarding you with coins and gems.

You’ll also be catching Man-Eating Monsters, small but dangerous creatures that support you in combat. They come in elemental types such as water, fire, and grass, and rarities including R, SR, and SSR, with SSR.

Paranoize also has a base-building component once you finish the early chapters. You develop a pixelated home base using resources earned from chapters, missions, and battles. You can also find the monster creatures around the hometown, hiding in specific spots.

The game lets you expand the town with a variety of structures, including entertainment-focused locations like the Theater, Game Zone, Casino, and Bookshop. The functional buildings, such as the Training Dojo and Summon Altar train monsters and perform gacha summons.

Japan Academy Awards winner Naoki Satō provides the music for Paranoize. While an all-star cast delivers performances in a fully voiced animated format. Check it out on the Google Play Store.
