Old School RuneScape Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary with New Quests, PvP Events and Raids

Jagex has outlined what lies ahead for Old School RuneScape in 2026, as it celebrates its 25th anniversary. The announcements were made during the Old School RuneScape Winter Summit. It covers everything from new skills content and high-level quests to competitive modes and a live event that marks the franchise’s first step outside the UK.

What’s in store for Old School RuneScape 25th Anniversary?

One of the biggest ongoing projects is Sailing, Old School RuneScape’s first new skill. The expansion will introduce additional quests, a new Barracuda Trial, and fresh activities connected to the Red Reef.

Story-focused players are also getting a major conclusion, as Blood Moon Rises will arrive as a Grandmaster-tier quest finale. It wraps up The Myreque storyline, a narrative arc that has consistently ranked among the community’s most popular.

Endgame PvM content is also on the roadmap with Raids IV, officially titled The Fractured Archive. It will become Old School RuneScape’s first new raid in four years when it launches in 2026. Also, the game’s rotating modes continue to cycle back, with Leagues VI scheduled to return this April.

It’s themed around Demonic Pacts and includes bonus XP drops, loot boosts, and power buffs, while reintroducing reimagined combat masteries. You can expect new relics, new tasks, and a new set of demonic-themed rewards.

A lighter but still dangerous update is coming from the latest Game Jam project

It’s called Beware the Ides of Milk and introduces Brutus, a bovine boss that has begun causing trouble around Lumbridge. Both free-to-play players and members will be able to take part as the encounter explores the ongoing feud between Seth Groats and Cassius.

Meanwhile, Season 3 of Deadman: Allstars, Old School RuneScape’s premier PvP competition, is set to take place this year. It will feature popular content creators and experienced PK veterans. The tournament will culminate in a live final where six teams face off at the Rosemont Theatre in Chicago, Illinois, on June 20th.

So, if you’re yet to dive into the latest in ORS, grab the game from the Google Play Store.
