Vohenn Is a Metroidvania-Style Title with 2D Action-Platforming, Out Now

Vohenn is a handcrafted Metroidvania adventure now available on mobile. An exploration-driven game, it comes from Turkiye-based indie developer and publisher Alper Sarıkaya. Their previous games include Sword of Xolan, Manuganu, and Manuganu 2.

Vohenn offers 2D action-platforming and open-ended progression

You get to chart your own route through a hostile but carefully constructed world. The story begins after a violent storm destroys Vohenn’s ship. It leaves him stranded on a mysterious island that was once protected by elemental forces.

Those forces have collapsed, and darkness has spread across the land. Vohenn searches for answers to the shattered Harmonic Stone and the event that caused the island to turn against itself. The narrative unfolds as exploration opens up new areas, revealing fragments of lore and the consequences of the island’s downfall.

Exploration is such that combat offers keys that unlock previously unreachable paths. You can revisit regions by gaining new skills. The world is intentionally non-linear, allowing you to roam freely through interconnected areas.

The areas are full of hidden routes, environmental dangers, and optional discoveries. Vohenn also includes a minimap system that tracks progress and helps you understand how different sections of the island connect.

It offers side explorations as well

They include discovering chests, tackling timed challenges, collecting special objects, and solving puzzles scattered throughout the island. Meanwhile, character progression is handled through skill levelling and build customisation.

Vohenn is a premium release on Android, which you can grab from the Google Play Store for $4.99. It offers gamepad support for those who prefer physical controllers. It also has cloud save support for progress to be synced across devices, with both automatic and manual save options available.
