Crunchyroll Adds Strategy Puzzle Adventure Umiro to Its Android Roster

Crunchyroll has added a new title to its roster on mobile, which is Umiro. It’s a puzzle adventure game developed by Diceroll Studios. Technically, this is the game’s second birth on mobile. That’s because Devolver Digital published the game on both PC and mobile in 2018.

That standalone version costs $2.99. So, in case you have a Crunchyroll Mega or Ultimate Fan membership already, you can grab Umiro for free. The game is a bit like Monument Valley and also a bit like Roofbot. Yes, it’s one of those charming games with aesthetically pleasing visuals.

Help Huey and Satura

The story is about two schoolmates, Huey and Satura. They wake up in the strange and colourless world of Umiro with no recollection of who they are or how they ended up there.

So, it’s you who has to guide both characters through a series of striking labyrinths and abstract landscapes viewed from an isometric perspective. As Huey and Satura move forward, they collect colourful crystals.

The crystals slowly restore the faded world around them and also unlock fragments of their lost memories. You carefully plan and trace paths for both characters, whose movements are independent yet deeply interconnected.

You get different traps, hazards, and timing-based challenges. The strategy execution places heavy emphasis on coordinating two characters at once. This dual-path system in Umiro demands agility, reflection, and anticipation.

Crunchyroll: Umiro includes over 40 handcrafted levels, which are spread across 4 chapters. Each chapter contains 10 levels, with an additional 4 bonus levels.

Umiro relies on minimalist geometric shapes and restrained sound design. The contrast between rigid level structures and the freeform paths drawn by the player mirrors the act of piecing together fragmented memories.
