Deadly Delivery Vecna Boss Guide

We’ll got through the boss fight in order of phases, then suggest some classes and items to bring to the battle.

The Arena

To face Vecna, you need to reach Floor -35. When you get there you’ll find the red, squishy cave landscape of the Upside Down. Demogorgons roam the area, and you might need to take them out if they start bothering you.

Meeting Vecna

The most important thing you need to know about Vecna is that you can’t hurt him which you start the boss fight. Rushing him with your weapons will do nothing and probably get your whole squad wiped. Don’t attack him head on. You need to destroy his shields. How do you do that? Onto the next section.

Frequency Generators

To destroy Vecna’s shields you need to carry a Frequency Generator to each of the clocks that surround the Arena. Here’s the process:

• Carry the Frequency Generator to the glowing field around a clock. Clocks are scattered around the arena.
• Place it down.
• Interact with the generator.
• You should see a screen with different wave frequencies on it.
• You need to use the green arrow buttons at the bottom of the generator to change the length and height of the red waves so they match the green ones.
• When it’s correct you shout get a message appear on screen that says ‘Check Successful’.
• This one is done.

You will need to repeat this for all the frequency generators.

What To Do If Vecna Grabs Someone

Vecna’s grab move is one of the biggest dangers, and can effectively one-tap a player. If he manages to grab a player character, there are a few things you can do.

• Attack Vecna. It appears that a few melee strikes with a bat can cause Vecna to release his grip.
• Stun grenade. Throw one at Vecna to break the grab.
• Revive downed players. You can

Even if the player isn’t do a ton with the Frequency Generators, you still want to keep as many people around as possible. More players can draw aggro, and you’ll need as many swinging on Vecna in the final phase, so try and keep everyone alive.

Finishing Him Off

Once you’ve tuned Frequency Generators next to all the clocks, you can go in for the kill. Hit Vecna with everything you’ve got. Demogorgons may still come after you, and Vecna can still attack, so don’t get too greedy, but now it’s just a matter of who does more damage.

Best Classes To Fight Vecna

We’d suggest putting together a balanced party to face the boss. We’re assuming fully upgraded versions of each class.

• Exterminator and Veteran’s weaponry makes them useful damage dealers.
• Keep a Batter around to free teammates from the grab move.
• Porter or Sprinter are handy for carrying the Frequency Generators.
• Fully upgraded Psionic can help keep enemies away from the carrier.
• Health Inspector is a handy support given how fast Vecna drops people.

If you’re going solo we’d probably suggest Veteran, just for easy access to the shotgun and a good stamina stat.

Items You Should Get To Fight Vecna

When you’re prepping for the fight, there are a few items that will make the battle quite a lot easier.

• Traps – There can hold Vecna in place, making the Frequency Generator sections a lot easier.
• Stun Grenades- Similar to Traps, but thrown. Delays Vecna in his invincible phase.
• Revives – Yeah… you might need these. A TPK is pretty possible.
