Puzzle & Dragons Celebrates 16 Million American Downloads with a Special Event

GungHo Online Entertainment has marked a new milestone for its popular mobile title. Puzzle & Dragons has reached 16 million downloads across North America, which includes the U.S. and Canada. So, obviously, it’s a good reason to celebrate.

The milestone marks more than a decade of steady growth for a game that blends puzzle mechanics with deeper role-playing elements. And obviously, the frequent collaborations from well-known pop culture, anime, and other games have also contributed to this growth.

On a global scale, Puzzle & Dragons has now crossed more than 90 million downloads since its debut in 2012. Its strongest performance continues to come from Japan, where downloads have surpassed 63 million. Additional regional totals include 3 million downloads in Hong Kong and Taiwan combined, along with another 3 million in South Korea.

The North American version of Puzzle & Dragons first became available in the U.S. on iOS in November 2012, followed by its Android release in December 2012. Canada received the game almost two years later.

So, what’s the special event for the 16 million downloads of Puzzle & Dragons?

GungHo Online Entertainment is running a 16 Million Downloads Celebration Event for North American players of Puzzle & Dragons. The event will run from January 21st through February 6th.

The event period includes a special Super Godfest and bonus Login Stamps. There will also be a selection of dungeons that you can enter using half the usual Stamina cost.

Developed and published by GungHo Online Entertainment, Puzzle & Dragons remains available as a free download on mobile. The game combines match-three-style puzzles with monster collection and dungeon crawling systems, which is why it’s liked by many. You can find it on the Google Play Store.
