Hack & Slash RPG Knight & Dragon IV Lands on Android with New Features

Knight & Dragon IV has arrived on Android. It’s the fourth entry in the hardcore hack and slash RPG series Knight & Dragon by dgjam studio, a Japanese indie developer. The first title in the series dropped in 2021, while the previous one dropped in January 2024.

What’s the story?

Set in a medieval fantasy world, Knight & Dragon IV builds on what the series has done before. There are rare item drops and class changes. It’s a story that connects directly into earlier games while standing on its own.

The narrative is set approximately 30 years before the events of the previous game, Knight & Dragon III. It’s during the Hundred Years’ War between the great Lindar Empire and the Kingdom of Langheim, one of the Eldrua kingdoms.

You begin your journey in a refugee camp near the border separating the two major powers. Against a backdrop of conspiracy and political intrigue, people from different walks of life are drawn into the chaos of war.

Over time, the individual stories of knights and dragons gradually move toward a single conclusion. You’ll also meet familiar characters from earlier entries returning and receiving additional text.

Real-time battles remain central in Knight & Dragon IV. Battles now support a party size of six members, an increase over earlier games. Also, time pauses while commands are selected. New mechanics such as formations and skill chaining or skill linking have also been introduced.

With the addition of the Beast Tamer or Beastmaster and the Gladiator, there are now eight jobs in total. The game world is populated by six races, which include Humans, Lycans, Elves, Sylphs, Dwarves and Gnomes.

Despite the emphasis on party management, you don’t need to maintain multiple teams to progress. Unlike the first game, there are no quests or missions, including end content, that require two or more parties. You can complete every mission with just one party.

Check out Knight & Dragon IV on the Google Play Store. It’s priced at $3.99. Also, read our scoop on Jumbl Staxx x Assassin’s Creed: Genesis Digital Trading Card Collection.
