16 Dec Mobile Gaming Mobile Port of the Hit Single-Player, Open-World Action RPG, Maneater, Is Out Now December 16, 2025 Posted by GataGames Leave a comment HandyGames has brought the mobile port of developer Tripwire Interactive’s hit action RPG Maneater to Android. A single-player open-world RPG, it was originally released on PC and consoles in May 2020. The devs describe Maneater as a ‘ShaRkPG’ You’re in control of a shark instead of a human hero. The game begins in the waters of the Fawtick Bayou, where you’re a vulnerable bull shark pup trying to survive in a hostile ecosystem. Progression revolves around hunting, eating, and exploring the Gulf Coast. The central motivation driving the story is revenge against Scaly Pete. He’s the fisherman responsible for dismembering the shark early on. Maneater offers open-world exploration, dark humour, and combat with the fantasy of being an apex predator. The story takes place as a reality TV show narrated throughout by Chris Parnell. He’s known for his voice work from Rick and Morty as well as shows like Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock. Combat and progression are tightly linked to feeding and evolution. By consuming humans and animals, you gain nutrients that allow the shark to grow from a small pup into a massive Mega Shark. Along the way, you can also find exotic mutations, opening multiple evolutionary paths and play styles. These upgrades include abilities such as bio-electric spikes and bone armour, giving you different tools to deal with increasingly dangerous encounters. Enemies range from local drunks and eventually escalate to organised forces like the Coast Guard. Exploration takes place across seven large regions of the Gulf Coast. The game offers a living world that runs on a full day and night cycle. Maneater is out now on the Google Play Store. You can grab the Try & Buy option for free or the full game (premium version) for $9.99. From one ocean to another! Read our scoop on the new release, Cosy, Eco-Simulation Adventure Spilled!.
