RSG exits MPL and disbands all Mobile Legends: Bang Bang teams

RSG has announced it has exited Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports, disbanding all of its rosters competing in MPL Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia.

Sharing the decision across its teams on social media, the Singaporean esports organisation hasn’t detailed the reason why it has exited the mobile MOBA’s esports circuit.

RSG is a well-known esports organisation within the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports scene. The organisation’s team based in the Philippines won MPL Philippines Season 9 in 2022 while its Singaporean roster won MPL Singapore Season 3, 4, and 5.

Its crowning achievement within Mobile Legends: Bang Bang came in 2022 as RSG Philippines was crowned MLBB Southeast Asia Cup champion.

The organisation’s Malaysian roster was also no stranger to success. In 2021, it won Season 7 of MPL Malaysia and in 2023, it won Season 2 of the Kohai SEA Championship.

In an Instagram post, the organisation wrote: “Every end has a new beginning, phase one is now completed. See you in the next game.”

With RSG leaving MPL Singapore and MPL Malaysia, it has yet to be revealed which organisations will be taking its place.

However, for MPL Philippines, it has been revealed that Saudi Arabian esports organisations Twisted Minds and Team Falcons will join the franchised league.

RSG becomes the second organisation to depart MPL Philippines after Blacklist International sold its franchise spot in January 2025 due to a change of direction. As a result, there were two open slots for the competition’s 15th season which is set to begin in March.

MPL Philippines is one of the largest franchised esports leagues operating in Asia. Season 14 achieved great success after recording peak viewership of 1.6m along with an average viewing figure of 130,000 throughout the event’s duration
