2024 VALORANT Champions winner EDward Gaming has qualified for VCT’s upcoming international tournament, VALORANT Masters Bangkok.

The Chinese team locked in its qualification following a dominant 3-0 win in the VCT 2025: China Kickoff against BiliBili Gaming in the lower bracket final.

The team fought its way to qualification through the lower bracket, after dropping a series 2-0 to Trace Esports in the early stages. Following the loss, EDward Gaming defeated XLG Esports, Dragon Ranger and BLG, the latter two in quick succession.

As a result, the Chinese esports organisation will now take part in its seventh consecutive VALORANT global event. EDG will also have the opportunity to face Trace Esports once again in the VCT China Kickoff Grand Final on January 25th at 9 am GMT.

Based in Shanghai, Edward Gaming is known for its recent success in winning both the VCT Champions as well as VCT China Stage 1 and 2 in 2024. Its competitive results transitioned into economic success, with the team generating $600,000 (~£471,600) in revenue in a live 4-hour shopping campaign on Douyin (TikTok China), selling over 74,000 team bundles.

Its success goes beyond VALORANT, as the organisation is also known for its past success in League of Legends, including a World Championship in 2021 and an MSI title in 2015. Additionally, EDward Gaming competes in Wild Rift, Arena of Valor and Hearthstone.

With VCT China locking in its two representatives, Riot Games’ other three tier-one regions (EMEA, Pacific, and Americas) will soon confirm its teams. Europe will play the Kickoff Grand Final on February 9th, with several teams still in contention, including FUT, Team Vitality, Fnatic, and others.

In the VCT Americas, Cloud9 and FURIA have been eliminated, with two others between 100 Thieves, NRG, KRÜ Esports, and 2Game soon to follow suit. On the other hand, no team from the Pacific League has been eliminated.

VALORANT Masters Bangkok will kick off on February 20th and will last two weeks, with the final taking place on March 2nd.
