18 Jan eSport Six Invitational 2025 groups unveiled January 18, 2025 Posted by GataGames Leave a comment Image credit: Rainbow Six Esports Game devloper Ubisoft has announced the groups for the Six Invitational 2025, Rainbow Six Siege’s biggest event of the year. 20 teams from across the world will compete for a share of its $3m (~£2.4m) prize pool along with the opportunity to become Rainbow Six Siege’s world champion. The Group Stage sees the four groups of five compete in best-of-three Round Robin matches to determine which teams qualify for the Playoffs. Defending champions w7m Esports begin its title defence in Group D alongside Spacestation Gaming, SCARZ, Virtus.pro and Oxygen Esports. Notably, w7m Esports and Virtus.pro played against each other in the semi-finals of the BLAST R6 Major Montreal 2024 where the Brazilian organisation secured a 2-1 victory. 2024 Six Invitational runners-up FaZe Clan will start its campaign in Group B against FURIA, CAG Osaka, Shopify Rebellion and Team Secret. The North American organisation finished in the top four in Montreal after falling to Team BDS in the semi-finals. Speaking of Team BDS, the French esports organisation has been put into Group C alongside DarkZero Esports, Team Falcons, PSG Talon and Razah Company Another notable team competing is Team Joel, a roster that isn’t representing an organisation after struggling to find a deal following the termination of its contract with BLEED Esports. As a result, the team will not receive a salary while competing at the event. Six Invitational 2025 format Competing Rainbow Six Siege teams will take part in the Group Stage, the Playoffs, and the Finals. The Six Invitational 2025 takes place at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusets. from February 3rd to 16th. Playoffs consist of a double-elimination bracket where the remaining 16 teams will be cut down to six who will make it to the Finals phase of the tournament. The Finals is the conclusion of the double-elimination bracket. Up until the Grand Final, teams play in best-of-three matches while the Final is a best-of-five series. Rainbow Six Siege esports has continued signs of impressive growth over the last year. The 2024 edition of the Six Invitational became the most-viewed R6 Siege esports event in history, peaking at 521,249 according to Esports Charts. Alongside growing viewing figures, Ubisoft has revamped its esports revenue programme to offer more esports organisations an opportunity to generate additional revenue through the sale of in-game items.
