The announcement, made at the M6 Summit in Malaysia, details the developer’s ambitions to host regional esports tournaments and activations for the mobile game. Esports tournaments for Magic Chess: Go Go will initially start in Indonesia next year, before gradually expanding to the rest of Southeast Asia. In the announcement, the developer also revealed that it is collaborating with multiple streaming platforms to develop a ‘vibrant’ community for the title. At the industry conference, MOONTON noted that influencers and content creators will play a large role in the developer’s attempts to cultivate key opinion leaders (KOLS) for the upcoming title. MOONTON’s attempt to foray into the auto battler genre intends to diversify its current esports offerings which are headlined by Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. After soft-launching in Malaysia and Singapore, the multiplayer strategy game is slated to arrive in Asia-Pacific in early 2025.
