Tim Reichert, the co-CEO of multinational esports organisation GIANTX, has announced his departure from the company.

Diaz was previously the CEO of Giants Gaming and became co-CEO following the merger between his organisation and EXCEL Esports at the end of 2023. GIANTX maintains operations across its regional headquarters in London and Malaga, as well as its esports centre in Berlin.

Notably, the organisation currently competes across Riot Games’ esports titles — League of Legends and VALORANT — in the LEC and VCT EMEA. It also manages a Superliga team as well as a Game Changers roster. Last month, GIANTX won the VALORANT Spotlight Series 2024, an off-season event held in Paris featuring mixed-gender teams of professional players.

As a former co-founder of German esports organisation SK Gaming, Reichert has gone on to become a notable figure within the esports industry. In 2026 he was appointed Head of Esport for FC Schalke’s esports division and went on to join EXCEL Esports in 2021 as its Director of Sport. During his time at EXCEL, Reichert quickly rose the ranks and was promoted to CEO in 2022.

On his personal LinkedIn post, Jose Ramon Diaz, CEO of GIANTX, commented on the news: “Today marks a new chapter for GIANTX and for me personally. From now on, I take on the role of sole CEO of our company with pride and determination, a position I held for many years before the merger that created GIANTX.

“This experience gives me confidence that the results we strive for are within reach, thanks to the collective effort and talent of our team.”
