The recently-concluded VCT Game Changers Championship 2024 has proven to be a popular event viewership-wise, attracting more than 460,000 peak viewers and becoming the most popular Game Changers event to date.

The event, which is exclusively for women and marginalised genders, drew almost 123,000 average viewers as well, according to esports data platform Esports Charts.

The 2024 Game Changers Championship was held at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, Germany, and featured a total of 10 teams. The event saw a peak concurrent audience of 460,297 with an average minute audience of 122,950, breaking 2023’s record for the most popular event of its kind.

The event now ranks as the second most popular women’s esports tournaments ever. It is beaten only by the Women’s Tournament in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang at the 32nd SEA Games in May 2023, which drew 1.3m peak viewers and 305,000 average viewers.

In addition, it was also one of the more popular VALORANT events of 2024 overall, coming in at number eight viewership wise for the title, in front of the likes of EMEA Kickoff and VCT Americas Stage 2.

The event also had 6.25m hours watched on 50 hours of air time, with MIBR being the most popular team (2.9m hours watched) despite losing the final series to Shopify Rebellion. G2 Gozen, a popular VALORANT team, was third in terms of hours watched, with 1.8m.

The Game Changers series of events is aimed at women and marginalised genders, and provides a safe and structured space for non-male players to compete in.
