Counter-Strike legend Patrik ‘f0rest’ Lindberg has returned to multinational esports organisation Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) as a Brand Ambassador.

Officially announcing his retirement from Counter-Strike esports, the organisation noted that f0rest will play a crucial role in supporting NIP’s competitive and creative efforts.

Throughout his two-decade-long Counter-Strike career, Lindgren ranked among HLTV’s top 20 players four times. The former athlete was signed with Ninjas in Pyjamas between 2012 and 2020, with whom he won the 2014 ESL Cologne Major. Moreover, Lindgren was part of the iconic 87-0 roster, which holds the longest map win streak on LAN in CS:GO history.

As NIP’s new brand ambassador, Lindgren will co-stream the Counter-Strike team’s matches, including its upcoming run to qualify for the Shanghai Major at the RMRs. Lindgren will also stream games daily on his Twitch channel through Counter-Strike matchmaking platform FACEIT. On the platform, fans may have the chance to participate in community events.

In addition to streaming activations, Ninjas in Pyjamas plans to launch several merchandise items in the future, including a limited jersey dedicated to the player’s 87-0 streak and a digital collectable. Finally, fans can win physical merchandise and virtual cosmetics through challenges on Ninjas in Pyjamas’ Dojo, a member-exclusive fan reward platform.

Since January 2023, Ninjas in Pyjamas has been part of the wider NIP Group following a merger with Chinese digital sports group ESV5 E-SPORT GROUP CO. Under this new entity, Ninjas in Pyjamas has since expanded into other notable titles such as League of Legends, via China’s LPL and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, through a partnership with SEA’s Team Flash.

Hicham Chahine, Co-CEO of Ninjas in Pyjamas, commented on Lingren’s return to NIP: “It’s a pleasure to welcome back one of the most well-known faces associated with our iconic esports organisation.

“Patrik did great things with us as an esports player and we look forward to making him at home again as a Brand Ambassador.”

One of f0rest’s first livestreams under NIP will be at the Svenska Cupen in Stockholm, Sweden, where the organisation’s Counter-Strike roster will compete on November 9th-10th.
