Honor of Kings Championship 2024 unveils tournament details

The 2024 Honor of Kings Championship has released more information on the tournament ahead of its October 12th start date.

The tournament sees 16 teams from across the world compete for a share of $1m (~£764,785) in prize money.

The participating teams will be split into four groups with the top two advancing to the knockout phase beginning on October 18th. The event will conclude with a best-of-seven Grand Final on October 27th.

In addition to details on the format, Honor of Kings also shared information on how viewers and players can interact with the tournament through broadcasts and in-game activations. Watching matches grants viewers in-game rewards while participating in in-game tasks gives players a chance to win an array of items.

Throughout 2024, the Honor of Kings esports circuit has expanded at an impressive pace. In June, publisher Level Infinite unveiled a team partnership programme that has attracted the likes of Team Vitality.

Following Honor of Kings’ global launch this year, the mobile MOBA’s season-ending event will be looking to record higher Western viewing figures than 2023’s edition, which recorded a peak viewership of 14,539 according to Esports Charts. Whilst these figures seem low, it’s important to mention that Esports Charts does not record Chinese viewership, Honor of Kings’ biggest market.
