Okay, let’s talk about Black Flash.

What Is Black Flash?

Black Flash is a burst of Cursed Energy corresponding with a physical hit, resulting in a hugely enhanced punch with the trademark ‘flash’ of dark energy. In-game, this gives you a powerful strike that sends your opponent flying and hits for a generous chunk of damage too. It even comes with a multi-hit finisher if you can land enough of them on a target. Very useful in PVP, though it does take a bit of timing to use properly.

How Do You Unlock Black Flash?

You don’t really need to do anything special to unlock Black Flash. It stays locked until around Level 50, and possibly after. It has a chance to manifest at any time during melee combat, while you attack with your default M1 strikes. It doesn’t matter if you’re fighting with your fists, or using a weapon. At some point Black Flash should trigger automatically with a flashy cutscene.

Unlucky for whoever you’re fighting. After that, Black Flash becomes a permanent ability.

How Do You Land A Black Flash?

Once you have Black Flash, you can use it in a fight, though you’ll need to wait for it to trigger in a fight. You’ll know it’s ready to trigger when you see the black lightning over you. When you see it, you need to hit your Cursed Energy charge button, (E) and whatever hotkey Black Flash is on at the same time. If you hit it at the right time, you should trigger a Black Flash and hit super hard.
