The Apex Legends Championship Series (ALGS) has announced a partnership with electronics company Sony.

As a result of the deal, Sony’s INZONE gaming brand will become the official monitor partner of the battle royale circuit.

The deal will see Sony’s brand provide monitors for players to use during the ALGS Year 4 Championship in Sapporo, Japan in early 2025. The M10S monitor featured at the event was designed in collaboration with UK-based esports organisation Fnatic.

In recent years, Sony has continued to expand its presence within the esports industry worldwide. In June 2024, it partnered with German esports organisation SK Gaming while March saw the company become a partner of the Esports World Cup, a multi-title competition operated by the Esports World Cup Foundation.

ALGS’ partnership with Sony takes the competition’s number of partners to four. Sony joins the likes of Alienware, Herman Miller and Battle Beaver which all provide a range of equipment to operate the events. The competition’s Split 2 playoffs concluded in early September, recording peak viewing figures of 403,421 with Spacestation Gaming taking home the victory and $300,000 (~£223,992) in prize money.

Monica Dinsmore, Senior Director of Esports Brand Strategy and Marketing at EA, spoke on the deal: “Every second and every frame matters in esports – and with so much on the line as we get closer to the ALGS Year 4 Championship in Sapporo, Japan, it’s important that we arm our competitors with the highest quality technology available.

“That’s why we are excited to partner with Sony to supply ALGS tournaments with the industry-leading INZONE M10S monitor, so that everyone can play at the top of their game.”
