How To Play A Long Road – A Beginner’s Guide

The goal of A Long Road is to drive along a strange, deserted highway for as long as you can. First, you need to put your car together and get ready to drive it. If you need some help with that, try our guide on how to build the car in A Long Road.

Needs

There are as few things that might stand in your way. You need to manage different resources to stay alive and keep moving.

Hunger

You need to keep your Hunger bar from hitting zero. You restore this by eating food items like donuts, burgers, cake, and apples.

Thirst

You need to keep the blue bar full to stick around. You do this by drinking beverages you find, such as coffee, Bloxy Cola, water, and Bloxade.

Fuel

Keep an eye on the fuel gauge on your car. If it empties out, your car won’t got any further. Keep it topped up with fuel, found in red cans. You refuel by opening up your fuel cap and pouring the gas into the tank.

Scavenging

So how do you find food, drink, and fuel? There are different buildings found along the road. If you search around inside you can find lots of useful items. If you see a building you should stop, hop out, and investigate for anything worth using. This is crucial to survival, as you’ll eventually run out of food, water, or gas.

Tips

A few more tips to help you out.

  • Search the starting house and pack everything.
    • There is a fridge full of food, spare wheels, and extra cans of gas around the starting house, make sure to use or pack all of these so you don’t need to find a building too early.
  • Watch the weather.
    • Rain, darkness, and sandstorms can make it tough to see obstacles and buildings.
  • Be careful on hills.
    • Gravity impacts how fast you go. Be careful on steep hills!
