So, what’s it all about?

Toons

Playable characters in Dandy’s World are called Toons. There are lots of different Toons with different stats and skills, though at the beginning the two you need to know about are the starter Toons, Poppy and Boxton. They have different skillsets they bring to a team.

• Poppy – A faster Toon who gets a speed boost after she takes damage from a Twisted. Best suited for distracting enemies.
• Boxton – A toon with machine skills who fills Ichor chambers faster, suited to operating machines.

If a few of you are playing, it’s a good idea to get at least one of each, as they work well as a team. You can buy or earn new Toons along the line. Most have powerful skills. ..most.

Levels And Machines

The main goal of Dandy’s World is to enter an elevator and travel down into the complex, completing each floor in order to keep going. You complete a floor by activating several machines hidden in the level.

You activate machines by interacting with them. Your Toon will start turning a valve and filling the glass chamber with Ichor. From time to time, a minigame will appear where you need to stop the line when it hits the white zone on the bar, not before, and not after. Eventually, the chamber should fill and the machine’s light should turn green.

Once all the machines are done, it’s time to leave! You just need to survive long enough to hop on the elevator.

Why wouldn’t you survive? Well, you’re not alone down there.

Twisteds

Twisteds are the enemies of Dandy’s World. These wandering abominations might look suspiciously similar to the Toons, but they’re definitely not friendly. If a Twisted sees you it will run towards you and attack. If you want to get away, you need to break line of sight with them. That means running around corners, and hiding if you need to.

That’s not all. Remember the mini-game? If you fail that, it will draw the Twisted in the direction of that machine, so you might need to run away.

Items

There are various items scattered around the floors. Some of these give you Ichor, others give stat boosts that help you stay alive. Interact to scoop them up while you can.
