According to a release, the two parties will aim to grow MLBB’s esports ecosystem and provide ‘elevated experiences’ during tournaments. To commence the partnership, Qiddiya will host online and offline activations during MOONTON’s M6 World Championship taking place in Malaysia. In addition to the activations, the megaproject has become the global presenting partner of the event and will sponsor broadcast segments as well as the Legends Award which commemorates standout performances from players. Alongside hosting activations, MOONTON and Qiddiya will provide the MLBB esports circuit with ‘multi-level support’ to assist the esport’s growth across several territories around the world. MOONTON and Qiddiya first partnered in December 2023 in a deal which saw the megaproject become the presenting sponsor of the M5 World Championship. The event went on to record over 5m peak viewers. MOONTON continues to expand and support the worldwide growth of MLBB. In March 2024, it partnered with the Nigeria Esports Federation to support its domestic esports scene. In January, it joined forces with tournament organiser IO Esports to launch an academy league in Malaysia. Adrian Cher, Esports Head of Business Development and Sales at MOONTON, spoke on the extension: “Our strengthened partnership with Qiddiya reinforces our commitment to deliver captivating experiences to global communities. “As the first international game publisher to partner with Qiddiya, we’re grateful for their contributions to elevating and enriching the entertainment landscape.” Disclaimer: Qiddiya was a sponsor at ESI London 2023.
