Middle Eastern esports company YaLLa Esports has announced a partnership with web3 streaming platform Myco.

As a result, the platform will become a strategic partner of Compass, a $450,000 (~£369,000) Counter-Strike 2 tournament series operated by YaLLa Esports.

ESI London 2024

The partnership will see Myco secure the exclusive Arabic language rights to stream the Compass qualifiers and finals in addition to its MENA Open tournaments. Myco will also integrate the tournament circuit into its web3 platform which enables viewers to earn while watching.

Qualification for Compass commenced in October 2024. Each of the two qualifiers features a $25,000 (~£19,981) prize pool and qualifies the winner for its $400,000 (~£319,800) LAN final in the United Arab Emirates in June. So far, only German esports organisation BIG has qualified for the event.

The creation of Compass aims to grow the esports industry in the United Arab Emirates. YaLLa Esports notes the creation of the tournament will create jobs and allow local teams to compete against well-known global teams.

Myco partnering with YaLLa Esports takes Compass’ partnership portfolio to four. The streaming platform joins the likes of data platform GRID Esports and skin trading marketplace BitSkins on its roster.

Klaus Kajetski, CEO of YaLLa Esports, spoke on the partnership: “We believe in the power of the community. With Myco, we will not only give our viewers power but also value their voice and give them the chance to earn from all the hours they spend watching Compass.

“We aim to use new technologies for our long-term vision, enhancing the Compass fan experience for all gamers. Partnerships like these are essential in bringing this vision to life.”
