Best New Android Games and Sales: League of Legends, PES 2021, Slayaway Camp, and More

Let’s be honest: this hasn’t been the most outstanding week for new releases. Even the few we covered barely count – one is an open beta on the other side of the world and the other is a few more games coming to a streaming service.

But that’s fine, because it’s Halloween, which means sales. There are tons out there, many of them for creepy titles like The Room and Bulb Boy, but the standout bargain by a country mile is Stardew Valley, discounted this week to its lowest ever price.

New Games

Don’t get excited. League of Legends: Wild Rift, the long overdue mobile version of Riot Games’s seminal MOBA, is not really out. But if you live in Philippines, Thailand, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, or Japan you can now play the open beta. Europe, Oceania, Vietnam, and Taiwan will be added to the list in December.

Microsoft has just announced several new games coming to Xbox Game Pass, its Android streaming service for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. This week saw the arrival of Five Nights at Freddy’s, PUBG, ScourgeBringer, and Unruly Heroes. More games are set to arrive next week, including Celeste, Deep Rock Galactic, and Eastshade.

The latest in a long, long line of annual PES updates, eFootball PES 2021 features licensed clubs and players and an all-new Iconic Moments feature, letting you replay significant incidents in the careers of several high profile soccer stars.

In honor of all things creepy, Fireproof Studios has discounted The Room Two and The Room Three by 50% each. You can pick up the former for 99c and the latter for $1.99, giving you hours of unsettling escape room-style puzzle action for the price of a small pumpkin spice latte.

Stardew Valley is one of the best games you can play on any platform. This adorable, utterly gripping farming sim won numerous awards when it was released in 2016, and it’s currently on sale at its lowest ever price. You can pick it up for a mere $3.99, so if you haven’t already added it to your collection, this is the moment.

Slayaway Camp is a simple, well-constructed tile puzzler with a killer hook. Literally. It sees you playing as a murderer in a blocky ’80s pastiche world in which you can only move along two axes, and killing a person requires patience and brainpower.

One of the most aesthetically original and complete games on the Google Play Store, Bulb Boy is an acclaimed 2D puzzler in which you have to help the titular Bulb Boy explore a creepy environment, solve puzzles, and find his family.
